A bit about me.
I'm Bolyn, although most people call me Bo, hence the name ‘bojou’. To give you an insight into my work, here’s a little bit about me…
My background is in marketing but I’ve always had a keen interest in jewellery-making and design. I love being hands on in a creative capacity, so when I moved to Bristol a few years ago, I started a part-time silver-smithing course and soon realised that it’s what I wanted to do.
The jewellery I create is based on a whole range of influences. I adore Art Deco and engineered, robust designs, yet I love organic, tactile and natural forms. I have an admiration of elaborate and intricate detail but I also have a passion for contemporary style, simplicity and minimalism.
I might sound contradictory, but there are so many things that I’m inspired by, I feel they all emanate my style of design in one way or another. However, what I’m influenced by the most, is simply creating handmade jewellery that people enjoy because it feels individual, personal and beautiful to wear.
But enough about me... Bojou isn’t just about my jewellery. There are so many amazing artists who unfortunately don’t often have the opportunity to present their work to a wider audience. I’m a big believer that anyone creative should showcase their skills. Whether it’s jewellery, painting, photography, sculpting or pottery - whatever it might be, if you want to take this chance to sell your work, then please contact me at bolyn@bojou.co.uk. |
